Winter at every turn

The ice crystals sparkle and the snow is glistening. Our giant snowman has already been made.

Our magic carpet, on which countless children have had their first go, is being rolled out in the hotel park.

But the region offers much more for families. The family ski area Katschberg ("Kachi") and the Goldeck are also not far away. Nestling in the fantastic mountain world of the Tauern, there is a challenge here for every skier: pistes for top skiers, and also intermediate and easy slopes for all who like an elegant and leisurely glide down the mountain. Naturally there are also plenty of practice slopes for children.

At the nearby Stubeck, an eight-kilometre toboggan run awaits young sledders. Or take a winter walk through the snowy artisan town of Gmünd. Oder take a ride in a horse-driven sleigh.

Ice climbing in Malta Valley - the valley of the falling water

In winter, the Malta Valley offers a variety of ice climbing options at varying degrees of difficulty. With ice climbing, you climb on ice formations such as frozen waterfalls and icicles. It is a special type of alpine mountaineering and has now been established as a new winter sport. In Malta Valley, we offer the opportunity to introduce beginners to the fascinating sport of ice climbing.
